Queer and Now Concert Series

In celebration of LGBTQ+ History month, OUT Ensemble presents Queer and Now, a concert series celebrating the works of contemporary queer composers. Hosted by the University of Michigan Museum of Art and the Ann Arbor District Library, the two performances are built around the world premiere of a new work by University of Michigan student Mary Denney. The new 15-minute commission, Dreaming in Color, is an exploration of self and a celebration of identity. Following the world premiere at the UMMA, Queer and Now moves to the Traverwood branch of the Ann Arbor District Libraries, offering a second free performance later in October to engage with the wider Ann Arbor community and encourage further exploration of LGBTQ+ artists, authors, and musicians. Event details coming soon.
